How do travel medical services work?

Do they fly you out to different states or do you have to drive to the different states they give you. And what are some popular travel companys. How do travel medical services work?My daughter is a travel nurse. She took her first assignment 5 months ago -- traveled from Ohio out to Washington State by car. How you travel is up to you. The company she works for paid, I believe, $600 for travel expenses out to her first job. She could have taken that money and flew to her assignment, but then she wouldn't have had her car for the months she is in that area.

By the way- the experience has been absolutly terrific for my daughter - and she was only a RN out of nursing school for 1 yr, and 25 yrs old, when she received her first assignment (Pediatric Intensive Care). The company she works for set her up in a completely furnished apartment, paying for all utilities and her job as a PICU RN has turned out to be just fantastic. Everyone has been extremely welcoming to her where she works. She loves the travel nurse experience - is planning to go someplace new out West to experience in Sept.
