How does water travel from the soil to the leaves of a Plant?

How does water travel from the soil to the leaves of a Plant? Yes its a HW question, please help? How does water travel from the soil to the leaves of a Plant?Water is absorbed by root hair tissue and is then moved to the xylem. Water is then moved up the plant via transpirational pull because water has the properties of cohesion and adhesion. Basically, plants are losing water out of their leaves if they are doing gas exchange (which they have to do for at least a portion of the day) and because water sticks to itself and to surfaces as water is evaporated out of the leaves more water is pulled up from the roots. How does water travel from the soil to the leaves of a Plant?the roots of the plant takes in the water along wid salts and minerals and then thru the stem, those nutrients and water are passed from the stem to the branches and they go on to the leavesHow does water travel from the soil to the leaves of a Plant?water will go first to the soil after that it will go to the roots the roots will clean the water and give the nutrients from the stem and leaves
