Is it something you can start up on your own? Do you need lots of licensing? Should you start working for an agency or something? Is any Hospitality job a better precursor for Travel Agent than another?What does it take to become a travel agent?I think the best thing would be to go to a few travel agencies and ask the people there. If they aren't very busy with a long line of customers, I expect they would be glad to help you.
HOWEVER, the travel agency business has been squeezed very badly by the travel sites on the Internet. Margins in the generic travel agency business are not huge. Unless you figure out some specialized niche to serve, you could have trouble making a go of this.
I hate to say this when you clearly have decided this is for you. I would encourage you to do your homework well and design some way for you to pay in this business and make money.What does it take to become a travel agent?Take a look at this website
