I know that the M20 A1 can travel over 800 metres, although it is much less effective at this range. I would like to know how fast a bazooka travels and how far it would travel in 5 seconds from the moment it is fired. How far does a bazooka travel in 5 seconds?@ Gribble, an AT-4 is not a bazooka, an AT-4 is one of the most advanced portable rockets, not something that was used in WWII.
The M1A1 (depending on which model) has a velocity of about 250 ft/second. So in 5 seconds it would travel about 1250ft, if it could fly that far. Instead it has can't travel much more than 300 yards.
But it depends on what model etc. As a rule of thumb I doubt any bazooka (which is a generic name for various rocket launchers) would have a velocity of more than 300 ft/secHow far does a bazooka travel in 5 seconds?According to http://science.howstuffworks.com/rpg2.ht鈥?/a> the muzzle velocity of the M136 AT-4 Light Anti-armor Weapon is 950 feet per second. I don't know how much an RPG will accelerate after leaving the launcher, though, but something around 5000 feet in 5 seconds seems like a reasonable estimate.
@Chris: my bad - this was all the info I could find. I bow to your greater expertise :-)How far does a bazooka travel in 5 seconds?A bazooka is a broad term that doesn't specify exactly what you're looking for.. Also to clarify AT4's/RPG's are not bazookas.
