I am planning a vacation to the Philippines on April 2010 for a 1 month visit. My passport expires on July 2010. I am a Filipino citizen and a permanent resident here in Canada. Is it still valid for me to travel there, having only a 3 month validity for my passport? Is my passport still valid to travel to the Philippines? For a Philippine passport holder, traveling to Philippines even when your passport is about to expire in less than a month is not a problem. The 6 month rule applies only to travelers visiting a foreign country. However, you might want to ensure that you get your old passport back when you apply for the new one if it is connected to the residence permit you have for Canada otherwise you possibly will have trouble re-entering Canada. Is my passport still valid to travel to the Philippines?if you have your philipine passport to use no problem, otherwise get you other passport renewed now at quick services.i live here in the php now six months without question, less you may get fined or more,or even more so sent back home. it doeesnt matter what the embassy says, there are other rules and laws here that over rides what is usually read, rule 1 no less then six months, otherwise get it renewed, or a visa or have an otherwise new passport, one country or the other.
REMEBER YOU ARE COMING FROM A MORE WELL TO DO COUNTRY THAN THE PHILIPPINES, you will get questioned or worse on less then general visa pass of issued visa, for three weeks or more, without a philippine passport:)Is my passport still valid to travel to the Philippines?Yes it is. The 6 month passport validity is usually applied to foreigners who are non-residents of the country they are entering. As you are both a Filipino and a PR in Canada, the 3 months validity of your passport shouldn't be an issue. Also, do not forget your PR card.
