What can travel along cables without intervening with the electric flow?

Assuming that a cable is carrying an electric current. What are the possible type of waves or charges or anything that can travel along with the electric current without disrupting the charge? What can travel along cables without intervening with the electric flow?If dc =%26gt; magnetic field

if ac =%26gt; electromagnetic wave

both should be perpendicular to current direction along the cable.
