How long does a drop of water take to travel from a river's source to its delta?

For eg, how long does water take to travel from Gaumukh to the Ganges delta. How long does a drop of water take to travel from a river's source to its delta?depends how far the drop is down the river and which river....How long does a drop of water take to travel from a river's source to its delta?Generally, it depends on how long the river is and how fast the water moves, isn't that true? The Ganges is about 2510 km long. The average speed in the middle of the river is (I'm guessing) 10 km/hr, and at the edges 2 km/hr. So overall, a single drop would move at an average of ... 6 km/hr, more or less.

2510 / 6 = 418 hours = 17.4 days.

But some of the drops will take 9 days, and some will get stuck in the mud and take many months.
