What is the maximum speed that a 1000kg car can travel over a hill with a vertical curvature of 30m?

What is the maximum speed that a 1000kg car can travel over a hill with a vertical curvature of 30m? This is a centripetal motion problem. Help anyone? What is the maximum speed that a 1000kg car can travel over a hill with a vertical curvature of 30m?The data is insufficient or we have to work with some assumption

Imagine a car speeding over a circular profiled hill

At any point on the hill we have two components of the wt of the car which can be worked out - one perpendicular to the earth surface and one at a direction which is tangent to the circular profile.

[(the tangential component either helps the car if car is on downward path or acts in opp direction if it moves upward to highest point of circle (or peak of hill)]

Except at the highest point where we have only a vertical component acting downwards along gravity.

in absence of locational data we assume your question related to the position at highest point

Now we centripetal force to the gravitational force on the car

or mv^2/r = mg

(1000) (v^2)/ 30 = (1000) (9.8)

v = 鈭?.8 鈭?30 m/s = (7鈭? ) (18/5) km/h = 61.72 km/hrWhat is the maximum speed that a 1000kg car can travel over a hill with a vertical curvature of 30m?No more than 35,i guess.

Sorry, none of the plugs used in both countries are common. Definitely, you will need plug adapters.

You will not be able to use your electrical aparatus using a simple plug adapter. You will need neither an transformer or an elevator.

I found this info here:

When ever i needed help in marketing myself as a travel agent they were there to provide me with valuable resources. The one major thing about GTI is that IT IS NOT multilevel marketing where as YTB is... With YTB the only way you are going to make any money is by having people under you which screams scam. Where as with Global Travel International you are the travel agent making money not anyone under you or over you. I would check out the source provided below for more information and use their chat feature to help obtain more information.I am looking to become a travel agent, anyone heard anything about Global Travel International?Hello,

My name is Cassandra Lane. I'm not here to spam, convince, or lure you, but as a YTB travel agent I got offended with your last answerer's response. With YTB, yes there is recruiting involved but that is INDEED not the only way to success with this business. Truth be told, I have made more $$$ with travel sales than with the recruits I have. I am happy with your decision to become a successfull entrepreneur, no matter which company you end up signing with. Best to you.I am looking to become a travel agent, anyone heard anything about Global Travel International?
I have worked with both companies in the past and have since decided to continue with GTI. YTB is also a good company but last year they lost their IATAN and IATA status meaning they were no longer recognized by two of the largest governing bodies of the travel industry. Also from my research, GTI has better pricing and vacation packages. It seems that they work with more of the supplier and give you more choices compared to YTB which seems to be limited to only a few air and cruise companies. This Christmas I booked a trip with GTI for 7 of us to go on a family cruise. We had a great time on the Carnival Cruise and I traveled for free since my commission or cash back from booking the other trips was greater than the cost of my ticket. I've always had great experiences whenever working with GTI and would recommend them to anyone who is motivated to become a travel agent.

What is the best way to travel to Algeria?

From the USA to Algeria. I suppose you have to fly. Should you fly to Europe (Madrid or Paris) and travel south to Africa by land or fly directly on the few airlines that fly to Algeria? I need advice from someone who has traveled there before. I am on a very very low budget. Thanks! What is the best way to travel to Algeria? You can go to Canada by road then catch the flight directly Canada-Algeria or yeah you can do USA-France (Marseille) then since you have a low budget make it by a boat to Algeria.

Good luck nd nice trip. What is the best way to travel to Algeria?
I've been to Algeria many times and i've just been going from maryland to paris to algeria

but there are other people who go to london(or somewhere nearby), and then algeria

i guess just from the usa, its better to fly to somewhere in europe first and then to algeria

and as for costs you just have to time it right; i'm not really the one in my family to book the flights, but i hear its really expensive around the summer and the winter...vacation times

but if its not a problem for you then i suggest going when its not "tourist season"What is the best way to travel to Algeria?I have travelled to Algeria 3 times already but i live in Toronto,Canada so here are the three diffrent ways I travelled to Algeria:

1, Toronto-Montreal with air Canada then Montreal-Morocco with Royal

Air Maroc then Morocco-Algeria with Air Algerie

    2. Toronto-Rome Air Canada then Rome-Algeria with Air Italia

    3. Toronto-Paris with Air Canada then Paris-Algeria with Air France

I must say # 3 was the easiest trip and was the best in customer service now what u can also do is is take a plane to Marseille,France and from there take a boat to Algeria

Since it isnt high season the prices should be a lot lower then they are in summer and i only went during summer and the tickets were about 1 400 $ what you could do is give your e-mail to Traveling agencies and tell them to send u e-mails only about promotions to Algeria and they do give pretty good deals on these promotions

but one piece of advice i would give u is to take two competing travelling agencies and call one of them and ask for their price and then call the other and tell them the price company "x" gave u they'll autimatically give u a better price and u call company "x " again and tell them the price company "y" gave u and so on

hope this helps and trust me u wont regret visiting Algeria its a gorgeous country with lots of history and many things to offer

if u have any questions dont hesitate to send me a msgWhat is the best way to travel to Algeria?
Connecting flights will probably be the easiest way. I have gone via Marseilles in France no problems at all. That was when all direct flights where full, and it was pretty straight forward. Marseille a small airport and was very quiet when I was there, had drink a read of a paper and we where off again.

Hope you enjoy Algeria. What is the best way to travel to Algeria?by an aircraft

What is the best place to travel to in America?

I am 17 years old and traveling (hoping to) travel with a coworker my age. My mother has limited us to America and I was just wondering what would be the best city to go to.

We want to have an adventure! We want to change our lives for betterWhat is the best place to travel to in America?Consider visiting New Orleans. NOLA is one of the world's special places with an ambience unique in North America, and remains so even after Katrina devastated it in 2005.

Katrina flooded about 80% of New Orleans with salt water, and the water stayed for almost a month. Much of the city is still struggling to recover and all you have to do to see devastation is drive around. It will take years for NOLA to fully recover from Katrina.

However, the parts of the city that tourists usually visit were not flooded. It's not a coincidence - the French Quarter and other old parts of the city were built on relatively high ground and only suffered wind damage from Katrina. Almost all of the damage has been repaired and you have to look closely in the FQ and city center to see that Katrina happened at all. You should visit and see for yourself.

You can drink the water, the electricity %26amp; phones work, and services like the post office, hospitals, schools, police/fire/EMS, and stores %26amp; shopping centers are operating.

Municipal services like street cleaning %26amp; trash collection collapsed after Katrina and that is why you may see answers warning about the “smelly” or "dirty" French Quarter. Those services were fully restored in late 2006 and it is no longer an issue.

I recommend staying in the French Quarter (Vieux Carre") if you can. There is a very wide range of selections available, from moderate guest houses to very exclusive "boutique" hotels. Search Yahoo Travel and Travelocity for ideas + check the hotel websites.

You don't need a car to get around in the French Quarter, Central Business District, or Warehouse District. Also, the parking regulations are Byzantine and there are lots of Parking Control Agents. If you drive or rent a car, leave it in a lot or garage unless you are traveling away from downtown.

The regional transit authority (www.norta.com) sells 1 and 3 day passes that offer unlimited use of buses and streetcars for the day(s) you select. There are also lots of taxicabs.

Regarding crime, use the same common sense you need in every major city in the world and there is little chance you will be a victim of anything except a need to visit the gym: Pay attention to your surroundings. Stay away from anywhere dark %26amp; deserted. Pay attention to your feelings - if anyone or anywhere gives you a bad feeling, leave the area. Don't leave something like a camera-bag or backpack unattended on a park bench while you wander off to take photos. Etc.

New Orleans has mild weather from October to May and the city stays green all year most years (rarely freezes and almost never snows). Summers are hot %26amp; humid, particularly in July and August - take it easy or stick to indoor activities during the middle of the day at that time of year. The good news for summer visitors is that hotel prices are usually lower.

    Things to do:

There are many sightseeing opportunities in the greater New Orleans area, including carriage rides/tours, plantation tours, swamp tours, ghost tours, and even Katrina disaster tours. The steamboat Natchez also does a harbor tour. There are numerous tour companies and your hotel can help with the arrangements. Try to avoid scheduling an outdoor tour until you know the weather forecast for the day in question.

There is always music, but the bands change: Go to www.bestofneworleans.com and click on Music then Listings or to www.offbeat.com and click on Listings, then Music.

Wander around the French Quarter, enjoy the architecture, watch the street entertainers (do tip), and visit some of the historic buildings that have been turned into museums (go to www.frenchquarter.com and click on Historic Attractions).

Assuming the weather is good, you can collect a sandwich lunch and eat in the riverfront park (watch the shipping) or in Jackson Square (a very nice park).

The Riverwalk shopping center has an air-conditioned food court with dining overlooking the river (www.riverwalkmarketplace.com).

The lobby for the Wyndham Canal Place is on the 11th floor and overlooks the French Quarter. It is a great place for an afternoon drink/snack: http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/MSYCP/main…

Cafe du Monde is in the French Quarter and you shouldn't miss having cafe au lait %26amp; beignets (www.cafedumonde.com). Another great coffee shop is the Croissant d'Or (at 615 Ursulines Street), which is open from 7:00am to 2:00pm and has food other than pastry.

The Palm Court restaurant is very nice, has moderate prices, and traditional live jazz starting at 8:00pm: 1204 Decatur Street, tel 504-525-0200 (reservations are important and they are not open every day).

All of the famous restaurants (Antoine's, Arnaud's, Commander's Palace, etc.) have reopened. Reservations are a good idea, and probably essential on weekends.

Cafe Degas is a very French restaurant near City Park at 3127 Esplanade - which is not within walking distance of downtown (5 to 10 minutes by taxi). They are closed on Mondays %26amp; Tuesdays (504-945-5635).

There is a free ferry across the Mississippi at the "foot" of Canal Street. It is a short trip but like a harbor cruise w/o a guide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canal_Stree…

The Aquarium and Audubon Zoo are world-class attractions (www.auduboninstitute.org) and you should see them if you can. There is a shuttle boat (not free) between the Aquarium (which is next to the French Quarter) and the Zoo (which is several miles away). You can also drive to the Zoo (which has free parking) or take public transit from the French Quarter.

The Louisiana State Museum (http://lsm.crt.state.la.us/visitor.htm) is in the French Quarter. New Orleans is also home to a number of other museums, such as the National World War II Museum (www.ddaymuseum.org) and the New Orleans Museum of Art (www.noma.org). Both can be reached by public transit: The WWII museum is in the central business district but a long walk from the French Quarter. NOMA is not within walking distance of downtown but has free parking.

New Orleans City Park has an amusement park with rides and attractions for children + free parking: http://www.neworleanscitypark.com

Check www.frenchquarter.com for ideas on other things to do.

I live and work in NOLA and you are welcome to write to me if you would like more information. I don't work in the travel, tourism, or real estate fields so won't try to sell anything to you.

Hope you have a good visit, wherever you go!What is the best place to travel to in America?

What is the best place to travel to in America? It depends on what you want to see or do. If you want mountains, Oregon or Colorado. If you want to go to the ocean, anywhere on the coast is good.

I recommend Minnesota, the nice view and big lakes are great for any vacation. What is the best place to travel to in America?

there is a place in North Caroline called Nags Head City they have beautiful beaches there and a great radio station called Dixie 105.7 a guy I know works there named Randy Gill he is great for helping people find things to do there in there city and they have lots of Radio contest
If you want to change your lives for the better, consider doing a volunteer vacation. Through various programs, you can help other people that are in need, learn something about yourself, and feel a sense of reward. You could help Habitat for Humanity, Katrina Victims Aid, etc. You might start by doing some research to see what is available in the US.

Is there a travel agency in the Philippines that assist in getting a visa to china? Dont need hotel nor ticket?

How does a travel agency work?

I am a college student, but I want to take a nice trip with some people this coming November. I am looking at the Southwest Airlines vacations and I was wondering about a travel agency, how do they work?

Do you really get good deals? Or are you paying extra for having someone do all the work for you?How does a travel agency work?Whenever I've used a travel agent, I've either paid the advertised rates or below them. That goes for both airfare and hotel rooms. In fact, when we went to Aruba in March we saved $700 on the hotel by booking through a travel agent. How does a travel agency work?Sometimes you get good deals using an agent. I only use a travel agent when I book a cruise because alot of the cruise agents have personally been on the different ships and know how they are laid out so they will get you the best rooms and prices lower than advertised online. As far as cost goes, it depends on the trip and what is included, you have enough time to consult with an agent and then compare online.

Travel agents get a commission for their work and they are paid on both ends. You really need to shop around as agents can vary as well.

  • How to travel from Chennai airport to Chidambaram?

I'm reaching Chennai by a domestic flight on a sunday in the evening (around 5:30 pm). How do I travel to Chidambaram from there?

How safe is it for a girl travelling alone?

Where do I catch a train to Chidambaram? What time, which station?

Or, if a bus is more convenient, where do I catch it from?

What time will I reach Chidambaram if I travel by bus or train? How to travel from Chennai airport to Chidambaram?as there is no direct train to chidambarm from chennai i suggest you to travel by tamilndadu state express bus corportion. it will be comfortable and also safe. as you are coming on sunday evening it will be better you get this bus directly from cmbt (central mofisul bus terminus ) at koyambadu. all the bus which goes to chidambaram go through the airport itself you can get this bus out side the airport itself but as you are coming on sunday evening there will be no seats if you catch that buses out side the airport. my suggestion is as follows.

as soon as you get down at airport take a auto to cmbt bus stand which is nearby 12 to 14 km from airport. he will charge you between 75 to 125 rs . or come out side the airport to main road and catch any mofusil busses which go towards chennai . (to your left ).

all mofusil bus goes to cmbt. get down there and ask any body at cmbt where the chidambarm bus start. chennai to chidambaram is 6 to 7 hours journey.

do not worry about travelling alone in tamilnadu as it is safe you wont have any harrasment here except auto man may ask some excess money, bargain with them maximum up to 150 you can pay him.

you have every 15 minute a bus to chidambaram from cmbt so do not worry about seat.and bus

have your dinner at cmbt itself and catch the bus after 8.00 p.m.so you can reach chidambarm at early morning 4.00 . calculatue your self the time when you want to reach chidambaram and catch the bus as per your time. there are two type of buses towards chidambaram one is tamilnadu state corportion and other is tamilnadu state express corportion which is two seater luxury bus. i suggest you to travel by express bus corportion as it will be comfortable.

1.Bus : Go to Chennai Mofussil Bu stand in Koyembedu (45 mins from Chennai airport),plenty of buses are available Chidambaram ,it takes 4 -5 hrs in bus, since Pondicherry and cuddalore falls in way to chidambaram , you can all take buses to these places and make transit journey.

2.Night trains are available from Chennai Egmore station to Chidambaram

1, you can board from Egmore station or even Tambaram station in Chennai

    3. Taxi from airport will take you 4 hrs to chidambaramHow to travel from Chennai airport to Chidambaram?
Tamil Nadu is totally safe for a woman.

    Chennai Airport to Chidambaram:

    1. By Train: Take the local train from Thrisoolam Railway Station, which is opposite the Airport, to Central station. From Central station you will get a Train to Chidambaram.

    2. By Bus: From Airport take a Bus to CMBT. From CMBT you will get lot of buses to Chidanbaram.

    Please check, http://holidayiq.com/states/Tamil-Nadu-O鈥?/a>
There are two ways to travel to Chidambaram. The first route is Chennai - Chengalpet - Tindivanam - Pondicherry - Cuddalore - Bhuvanagiri - Chidambaram which should be 230 Kms or less since the distance is from the airport and not from the 0 Point of Chennai. The other route is Tiruvanmiyur(Chennai) - Mahabalipuram - Marakanam - Pondicherry - Cuddalore - Bhuvanagiri - Chidambaram . Since you are arriving at the airport , It is better to travel by the first route which would be the shortest since the airport is enroute to Chengalpet. You can travel by Private buses like Rathimeena (K.P.N) which is quite safe or hire a taxi. The train service to Chidambaram is currently suspended due to guage conversion work otherwise the option would be to take a train to chidambaram from tambaram which is the nearest rail head. The government run SETC buses also ply to Chidambaram. My suggestion would be to either take a taxi or Rathi meena (KPN) bus to chidambaram . You can book a ticket on Rathimeena's(KPN) website : http://www.rathimeena.co.in and the site lists the nearest boarding point .Please be sure as to which boarding point you select. Rathimeena is quite safe. You can hire a taxi from the airport but do remember they charge you for both ways ie chennai - chidambaram and chidambaram - chennai even if you are not coming back in the taxi. It is quite safe to travel in Rathimeena's bus and also if you are taking a taxi from the airport . (You get a receipt with the Vehicle Number ,Drivers name , Emergency numbers such as the police and their Service number). How to travel from Chennai airport to Chidambaram?
Go to central railway station near egmore . Every one hour there is a train to chidambaram, traveling by train is much more comfortable than the bus.Regarding your safety to travel alone in India is something very complicated no place is safe until you think it is safe.
    1. Take a Taxi and goto the bustand (it is called Koyambedu or CMBT).

    2. you can find number of busses from there to chidambaram. Ask anyone they wil guide you .
    bus, just outside the airport
Opposite the airport u have Tirusoolam Rly Stn. You board the train and go to Tambaram. Many buses going en route Chidambaram are available at the Bus Station. It may take 6 hours to reach ur place.

How long does it take to travel between the south and north terminal at Gatwick?

We are travelling with Easy Jet from the North terminal and returning with Thomas Cook to the South terminal. As our flight home is early hours we thought it would be easier to park at south terminal and travel across to North. How easy is this? and How long does it take? Any tips/where we get the train etc would be greatly appreciated!

ThanksHow long does it take to travel between the south and north terminal at Gatwick?we go gatwick alot and you could run and it would not take that long, however of you tell the airport they migth gove you a lift in a car/ truck around the airport.

How long will it take to travel upstream?

A boat can travel 5kph upstream in still water, how long will it take to travel 5km upstream, if the water is moving 1km/hr downstream? How long will it take to travel upstream? The velocity of the boat relative to an observer on the side of the river is 4km/hr. If it moves up 5km/hr the river pushes it back 1km/hr 5km/hr - 1km/hr = 4km/hr

Now it simply becomes a problem of plugging in the values.

    velocity = distance / time

    4km/hr = 5km / time

    time = 5/4 hours.

    which is 1.25 hours.

Which is also, 1 hour and 15 minutes.

best is buy a small booklet, bus guide(publish by MightyMinds), available at major bookstore and 7 eleven, petrol kiosks etc.

or if u have internet, visit www.sbstransit.com.sg, use their iris journey planner, and oso visit http://www.smrtbuses.com.sg/busguide/gui鈥?/a> these are the two bus operators in sg, but the two online bus guides only provide info for their own buses, stupid rite?

For sentosa, take 66 or 170, alight at Newton MRT. At newton, take mrt to outram park, tranfer to NEL(northeast line MRT), jus follow the signs in purple color, den take NEL towards harborfront diection, one station away only! from there make ur way to sentosa by monorail or walk.

And the bus-stop oso provides bus-info of all buses that serve it, oso provides fare information.

    Getting To Hong Kong

Travelers to Hong Kong have a number of transportation options.

    Air

Hong Kong International Airport is located right on Lantau Island near Hong Kong Disneyland. By train it takes only 23 minutes to reach the Park!

Refer to the Hong Kong Tourism Board website for more information about air travel.

    Transportation:

Located on Lantau Island near Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong Disneyland is easy to get to. Yon can take Disney Resort Line, car, taxi, public bus or coach.

    Opening Hours:

    10:00 to 19:00 (weekdays)

Tickets Selling Hours: From 09:00 until the park closes

Hong Kong's Mass Transit Railway [26] (MTR) underground and overground network is the fastest way to get around the territory, but what you gain in speed you lose in views and (at least for short distances) price. There are ten lines, including the Airport Express, plus a network of modern tram lines operated by the MTR in the North West New Territories. The Kowloon Canton Railway (KCR), including its link to the mainland border at Lo Wu (Shenzhen), was merged into the MTR in 2007 and now operates as a integral part of it.

The most important lines for many visitors are the busy Tsuen Wan Line (red), which tunnels from Central to Kowloon and down Nathan Road towards Tsuen Wan in the New Territories and the Island Line (blue) which runs along the north coast of the Island. The new Tung Chung Line (orange) is the fastest route to Lantau and one of the cheapest ways to the airport when coupled with the S1 shuttle bus stationed at Tung Chung MTR station. The line also provides a link to Hong Kong Disneyland via a change at Sunny Bay station. The East Rail Line (light blue) is handy for heading up to mainland China by rail. All signs are bilingual in Chinese and English and all announcements are made in Cantonese, Mandarin and English so tourists should not have a problem using the rail system. Should you get lost, staff in the station control room usually speak some English so they would be able to help you out.

I want to know what is the best way to travel to Port Credit on a bus or by the train. What was the best way to travel to Port Credit on a bus or a train from Ottawa? You might have to use Via Rail to Union Station in Toronto and then take the Go Train to Port Credit. Usually it is much cheaper to take the bus than the train. Port Credit is very busy in the summer.

You can take a Greyhound bus from Ottawa to Missisauga, departing at four different times during the day, for about $30 each if you buy the tickets 21 days in advance.

The train is the more leisurely way to do it, but the bus will almost certainly be much less expensive.

Is Venezuela a safe place to travel with family for a year?

    Hi,

My husband has to travel to Caracas. He would need to work there for around a year.

Is it a safe place for me to travel especially with my 3 year old daughter?

How is the education there? I am concerned as she would need to start with her school by then.

Thanks. Is Venezuela a safe place to travel with family for a year? You and your family will probably be safer in Iraq, seriously. I cannot over-emphasize how dangerous life is in Caracas for the locals and for the "non-initiated" in the art of surviving in Caracas, they'll stick out like sore thumbs.

I can't fault the private schools, my daughter went to Kinder in Caracas in the late 1980s and the teachers are really dedicated. The problem, depending on where you live, is the infernal traffic jams in Caracas. Driving in Caracas will drive you insane in no time.

Please be safe and good luck.Is Venezuela a safe place to travel with family for a year?

I would suggest that you learn spanish, that you get informed where are the safe areas. I think education should be good there ! Inform yourself as much as you can... I live in Europe. It is much more safe here, surely. But I love it there so much, that I do not mind a little more carefulness... It depends on you !Is Venezuela a safe place to travel with family for a year?I don't Know but I think Bangladesh is the safe place to travel with family.

How does nutrients travel though a cell?

How does a cell eat, and how does that food travel through it? Like first the food goes through the membrane, then it gets sent to the E.R, then that sends it to whatever, and that thing will do this, etc. Thanks! How does nutrients travel though a cell?Okay, so the food is already digested and it diffuses through the membrane. Then the glucose molecules are put through cell respiration to provide ATP for the cell and power its functions. The amino acids are the base units to build together proteins. The nucleic acids are the base units to build up DNA and RNA. And the lipids are used in steroid hormones as well as the cell membrane and put in fat cells.

So it really depends on what food you're talking about! How does nutrients travel though a cell?A cell can "eat", or ingest nutrients through a variety of ways. As far as eating there is phagocytosis (literally means cell eating) and pinocytosis (cell drinking) as a way to ingest nutrients in membrane bound vacuoles. In this case, molecules are generally taken to the ER but what happens then depends on the cell and the ingested molecules.

Other way for extracellular nutrients to get through the cell membrane for use by the cell are: active transport, passive transport, ion channels and osmosis.

I am looking for something other than car and air travel. Something like railway where I can relax and use the time for something productive. Also something that travels direct without having to change modes of transportation in between, and someting that is most cost effective. What is the best way to travel from San Jose to Los Angeles and back?amtrak is the best way from san jose to los angeles and backWhat is the best way to travel from San Jose to Los Angeles and back?

Well if you can afford it a Limo is nice you can relax in the back, then when you get there you have already attained celebrity status. What is the best way to travel from San Jose to Los Angeles and back?check out amtrak - prices are reasonable- depend on when you leave and return and how many days you stay- check it out- DWhat is the best way to travel from San Jose to Los Angeles and back?
Amtrak is always a good idea, BUT consider this: (I live in San Jose, used to live in San Luis Obispo, and used Amtrak to visit family in So.Cal) I never got on a train anywhere north of Santa Barbara, they have buses. If I wanted a bus, I'd save money and take Greyhound, right? Anyway, the only way to get a fare that will let you board a train and get off a train without having to torture yourself with the unnecessary tours the bus will take you on is to BOOK FAR FAR FAR in advance! That's what my dad did for my grandparents and it worked... I think they call that fare the Coast Starlight; anything other than Amtrak's Coast Starlight and you might as well take Greyhound. Good luck!!
Use a bus like Greyhound. Usually the most cost effective.

where can you get them from? how do you get them, do you have to be a student?

how much are they? how long do they last for? what type of things get you get discounts on? where can you use them?

I am a 21 year old traveling to Europe next year. How do i get a student travel card for Europe? The only really internationally recognized student card is the ISIC - the International Student Identity Card. This card is accepted all throughout Europe to get student discounts at places like museums; I used it everywhere from London to small-town Czech Republic. You of course need to be a student to get this, although I suppose it may depend on how well they check at the issuing office where you get the card.

Details on the ISIC are available at http://www.isic.org/ and for details on how and where to get the card, go to http://www.isic.org/student-card/buy-an-鈥?/a>

Since you posted the question in Yahoo Answers Australia, then I will give you the direct link to STA travel, which issues the ISIC card in Australia: http://www.statravel.com.au

Can a minor travel across a state line to get married with parental consent?

Can a pregnant 16 year old travel across the state line with an 18 year old to get married if the parents give her consent to go across and all of that? In Maryland we are able to, but we live in Indiana and we have her parents consent just they wont drive with us.Can a minor travel across a state line to get married with parental consent?Get written permission from her parents and then you are covered if you are stopped by the police. Can a minor travel across a state line to get married with parental consent?
You don't need parental permission to cross the state line. There's nobody guarding state boarders or anything, you just drive to the other state.

As for getting married: each state sets their own rules on marriage. I believe that most states will allow a 16 year old to get married with parental permission, but you should check what types of forms or proof of permission you're going to need. There is probably a way for the minor's parents to sign a permission form and have it formally notarized, but check with the Maryland department of licensing for the rules.

Keep in mind that no state is required to recognize a marriage from another state, so even if you get a valid marriage license in Maryland, Illinois may not recognize you guys as married because of the age thing. Can a minor travel across a state line to get married with parental consent? It actually depends which county you go to, though some rules on marriage are statewide.

First is that if the girl is pregnant and is 16 or 17 years of age, if you have a signed note from a doctor that she is pregnant, she does not need parent permission to marry. If she is not pregnant, than you must have permission from the parents, and the criteria for parental permission varies by county. Some require the parent to appear in person, as do both the bride and groom to be, at the courthouse to obtain the marriage license.

Second issue is that in Maryland you are required to wait 2 full days from the day you obtain the marriage license until the day you have the ceremony. The person performing the ceremony has to sign the license and mail it back to the courthouse. If you are from out of state, some counties allow you to request an out of state affidavit if you call the clerk's office, thus mitigating the need to wait 2 days in the same state or make 2 trips to the state. However this is not permitted in all counties and may not be allowed due to the bride being underage. In order to get the details, following the second link below to find the Clerk's office in the county you wish to marry, and call them. They will tell you all the marriage rules in place and all the fees, and you can even make some arrangements ahead of time. Can a minor travel across a state line to get married with parental consent?
Woah, I don't think so, but even if you could you may want to slow down your 18 shes 16 I wouldn't get married just yet. (if this is a true story) take some time and think about what your doing. Can a minor travel across a state line to get married with parental consent?depending on what the state laws are in both states...maybe you should ask someone who has something to do with your state laws....srry if i didnt help..Can a minor travel across a state line to get married with parental consent?
    Yes.

How do I travel to Moscow, Russia on a tight budget in the autumn?

I need to visit a close friend in Moscow, Russia in October or November, but am on a very tight budget. Can anyone recommend cheap hotels/pension houses/bed and breakfasts/or hostels if need be? Also I have not found the information about train and bus travel to Moscow, can anyone help? How do I travel to Moscow, Russia on a tight budget in the autumn?Regarding bus service - try www.eurolines.com

There are cheap airlines flying from Europe (England, Germany, Netherlands). You can find them on this website (I don't know which country you will be traveling from): http://whichbudget.com/

If your friend speaks Russian, ask him to book a hotel for you - there are quite a few relatively cheap hotels and apartments/rooms for rent intended for local people (most of Internet website are more expensive). But we're still talking about $ 50 a day - Moscow is expensive.

Can you travel from the Canada to the UK without travelling via air?

Travelling by flying is far to expensive so i was wandering if there was any other way to travel? Can you travel from the Canada to the UK without travelling via air?Yes, apparently you can still take a transatlantic cruise from the UK, across to North America, but this would be far more expensive than flying, and you would have to go via the USA.

Typical cost for a transatlantic cruise is 拢1500 or more.

If you want cheap airfares, book through STA travel as people under the age of 26 can get a cheaper deal, especially students. Can you travel from the Canada to the UK without travelling via air? There are a few freight ships that carry a few passengers but the cost is high, at least 拢100 per day so it's cheaper to fly. You will probably end up in a container port like Felixstowe so more extra cost getting to your intended destinationCan you travel from the Canada to the UK without travelling via air?Hi, there are a few deluxe cruises and I don't suggest you such a thing because it's too expensive. Try to take a plane, don't worry, it's the safest way of transport! Can you travel from the Canada to the UK without travelling via air?
By boat if you have that kind of time.. Or you could try to swim the Atlantic, good luck.

  • How much of a discount do you get with a travel agent?

This June, a group of students and I are planning to fly to Russia from Washington DC. I've been looking at ticket prices online, and they are quite expensive (about $2200 to the city where we will be going). I've heard that it is usually much cheaper to get international tickets through a travel agent. What percentage of discount could we expect? Thanks! How much of a discount do you get with a travel agent? As much as I hate to say this (I went through travel school years ago and was a travel agent for a short time), travel agents don't usually give much of a discount, if any. The problem is that nowadays with the Internet giving access to all airlines either via their own Web sites or mass ticket distributors (Orbitz, Expedia, etc.) travel agents are not booking nearly as many tickets and therefore not producing as much income for the airlines. It used to be the ONLY way to book a ticket if you didn't want to call the airline reservation line or if you wanted to know rates from several airlines. But the problem is that the airline Web sites now offer most (if not all) of their fares to the general public, though they do have the right to limit the number of tickets at each fare - just as they do with the travel agents. The reason travel agents aren't able to offer more of a discount is because they get mostly the same rates we (the public) gets, but they also take their commission as well. Sometimes they are offered an additional commission and sometimes they add a fee for their services, so you should always check that first.

On a side note, if you email me the dates and city in Russia where you will be going, along with the number going, I will see what I can find for you!

Good luck and enjoy Russia! How much of a discount do you get with a travel agent?Agents sometimes have access to unpublished group rates. Plus they can recommend flying times that might save some money.

However, you will pay for their services. How much of a discount do you get with a travel agent?Travel agents usually can't give that much of a discount because there is not much margin on airfares these days. but a travel agent can usually get the ticket for you for the same price that you found on the net, but you have the peace of mind of knowing that you have a human to contact if something goes wrong or if you need to make any changes.

What is the cheapest way to travel from Tokyo to view Cherry Blossom at Hokkaido (Okayama airport am I right)?

I have already booked tickets to Tokyo from 11Apr-17Apr 2008 without knowing that Cherry Blossom festival is at Hokkaido.Any budget hotel to recommend at Hokkaido where I can easily travel to the exact location of the parade (do u know exact where is the parade location? Is it Tidal Basin?) as I suppose there's no way I can travel back to Tky on the same day? What is the cheapest way to travel from Tokyo to view Cherry Blossom at Hokkaido (Okayama airport am I right)?Ok, Hokkaido(北海道) is locates in North of Japan.

Okayama(岡山) is in the middle south of JP.

http://maps.google.co.jp/What is the cheapest way to travel from Tokyo to view Cherry Blossom at Hokkaido (Okayama airport am I right)? You are all mixed up about Japanese geography. Tokyo is in Kanto region, which is the pretty much center of all Honshu island. Okayama is down south in Chugoku/Shikoku region. Hokkaido is the northern most island of Japan. I am thinking if you go to Japan around mid April, Sakura Zensen- Cherry bloosoms are in northern area. It probably ending in Tokyo area. If you really want to go to Hokkaido from Tokyo, you need to either fly there or take a long ride train. You need to study some website, such as Japan-guide.com before you go. Good luck! What is the cheapest way to travel from Tokyo to view Cherry Blossom at Hokkaido (Okayama airport am I right)?Hmmm? The cherry blossoms don't bloom in Hokkaido - Hakodate in fact - until mid May. Okayama is south of Kyoto. Sapporo is the airport in Hokkaido. Your dates would be at the ending period of the blossoms in Tokyo and Kyoto if it hasn't finished already due to bad weather or early bloom.

    ---------------

    There's also this place Matsumae:

http://gojapan.about.com/od/cherryblosso…What is the cheapest way to travel from Tokyo to view Cherry Blossom at Hokkaido (Okayama airport am I right)?
You need to look at a map of Japan.

Okayama is no where near Hokkaido, and no way near Tokyo.

The tidal basin is in Washington, DC USA, where the US National Cherry Blossom festival is held.

In Hokkaido the cherry blossoms (historically) bloom in early May.

In Tokyo (historically) the Cherry Blossoms bloom in late March.

Cherry blossom viewing in Japan is known as "hanami" there are many spots through out Japan to see them. If you get there at the right times to see them bloom.

How can time travel work if earth is moving?

If you went 1 year back in time you would end up in the middle of space because the earth and solar system and galaxy are all moving super fast. If you went 10 seconds back in time you would either be buried hundreds of feet underground or hundreds of feet above earth. So time travel in movies makes no sense. How can time travel work if earth is moving?Well, as others have stated, you can make up your own rules in the world of fiction.

The concept of disappearing in one time and reappearing in another has its flaws as well... conservation of matter/energy comes to mind. I mean, if time travel in that sense were possible, what would stop you from putting the entire Earth in the time machine (well, aside from the fact that the Earth is probably larger than the machine itself) and sending the whole thing 1000 years into the past. With two Earth's in the past, you could really cause some problems. From the perspective of someone in the past, 1 Earth mass was instantaneously added to the universe. It wasn't converted from energy, it just materialized.

The type of time travel that isn't inhibited by the laws of physics, is more aptly referred to as time dilation. In relativistic scenarios, an observer in a different reference frame will observe you aging more slowly, they will see your clock tick more slowly. To them, they see that time has slowed down for you.

The problems with this, however, is that you would have to change direction to get back to Earth, which would negate the time dilation. One way to think of it is, the farther away someone is from you, the longer ago they appear to be. If they are constantly moving away from you, they appear to constantly age slowly. Of course, in their frame of reference, time is ticking away as normal. How can time travel work if earth is moving?
According to Eisenstein special theory of relativity time travel is relative.... Read the twin paradox below.

One 25 year old twin stays on earth while the other, fresh out of astronaut school, sets off on a space voyage travelling at 90% of the speed of light. After 10 years in space, with her mission accomplished, she turns round and heads back to earth. By the time she lands she knows from her on-board clock that 20 years have passed. She is now 45 years old. Fortunately, her study of relativity has prepared her for the shock when she sees her twin sister, who is now 71 years old.

Conclusion: Space travel, when it is really, really fast, is also time travel: you travel into the future without getting that much older yourself.

Though I'm not totally sold on Einsteins stuffHow can time travel work if earth is moving? There are plenty of other reasons why time travel does not make sense.

However, the one you invoke could be worked around if you make the following supposition:

A time machine cannot go to a time before the machine was turned on. Once the machine is turned on, it keeps track of its location (space and time) because that is the only way it can find its way to an exact "space-time" spot.

Of course, this implies that no one can travel back in time to visit us, until such time as we actually invent a time machine.

    ---

Personally, I think that even with such a device, a time machine cannot exist. There are other (more severe) problems with causality.
That isn't how it works at all! For one thing, actual time travel that is noticeable has never been done, some even say its impossible. That's wrong though, in order to time travel, you would have to be going faster than the speed of light, you could do this around a celestial object with high mass (i.e. the sun) or you could do that in a straight line, if you choose to travel faster than the speed of light around the sun (as seen in Star Trek), the force of gravity would keep you in our solar system, if you choose to go faster than the speed of light in a straight line, you will appear maybe even light years away, but you will be able to get back simply by going the speed of light again, and even if you somehow "controlled the 4th dimension" you would still be kept in our solar system by the gravity of our sun, which stretches across our whole solar system, creating the heliosphere, but even outside of the solar system, the solar system isn't going to be "rushing by you" as you would be moving around the black hole in the center of our galaxy (Sagittarius A* (pronounced A star)) and therefore would be traveling with our solar system, also, you would not "appear buried hundreds of feet underground" unless you were stupid enough to point your spacecraft at a celestial body! How can time travel work if earth is moving? In the movie, if they have gone as far as to make a time machine, isn't it possible they added a teleportation function, with calculations that automatically positions them in the location on earth that relates to the point on earth in the present? Time travel can be considered a an advanced form of teleportation itself, as you are technically teleporting through time. How can time travel work if earth is moving?
Movies don't have to mimic reality. Movies are like the "what if's" of reality. Plus it's fun to watch Back to the Future, don't you think? I mean wouldn't you like to know how it'd be like to go back in time? Would your actions change the future? However, in reality time travel to past is impossible so your arguments are irrelevant. Why don't you talk about time traveling into the future? It's been done before, is currently being done and will be done in the future.
No it doesn't that's why they are FAKE everything doesn't make sense like the movie UP he's about 5 and his hero is lik 40 and when the five year sees his hero they are the same age pretty freaking dumb it's a fact people know more about space then the what's in the ocean idk weird stuffHow can time travel work if earth is moving?
That's of course assuming that the space-time continuum is either the space OR time continuum, which kinda flies in the face of physics. But if your model is smarter than that then whatever. Otherwise, your question is kind of like asking "what happens if I get eaten by giant cucumbers?!"
Theoretically, the speed of light is as fast as anything can travel, however, if you were able to move faster than that, depending on how much faster than the speed of light you travel, the farther into the future you would travel. of course you have to be moving away from earth
You attack the question as if time travel is physical travel, which it is not. If time travel were possible you would stay in the same physical location but observe what happens in the future or happened in the past at the position you currently occupy. Got it?
Indeed, backwards time travel is impossible. However, all things move forward through time, all the time.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time#Time_a…
yep.... I agree.... the calculations to get a person to a point in time, either forward or backwards, are immense.... and would have to be spot on, lest they appear inside a wall or out in space....
I actually wrote a science fiction short story that used that fact as a plot device, with the time traveler ending up marooned in deep space (he was a baddie, so no real harm...)
time travel is just fictional. its never been performed (successfully) in real life
"So time travel in movies makes no sense."

    FYI, movies are fiction.
You need a temporal GPS in order to track your location based on time from your home base.
    That isn't how it works.

However you will need to get either a direct flight to Mexico from Europe or a flight on Air Canada with a layover in Toronto. To fly with a layover in the United States requires a U.S. C-1 transit visa which involves the same fee as for a tourist visa ($131).

A Canadian transit visa is free or charge and it is only required for Polish citizen who do not hold one of the new electronic passports with a microchip. We want to travel living in an RV and need a way to support ourselI'm sure you could start dealing drugs. You'd be mobile, and less likely to get caught.

Okay, so that's a bad idea.

You could become motivational speakers, and travel all over the country. Or you could sell something out of your RV. Like Salmon or Ping Pong Tables.

These are the companies that would be most likely able to handle a catastrophic loss like a tornado. Might not be the cheapest, but good coverage. Then find a local agent to help you decide the best coverage for you. What would be a good insurance company to do business with for a travel trailer? We work with alot of insurance companies. The easiest one we work with is Farmers Insurance they are great easy to do claims with and have a great policy. They may be a little more expensive (if any) but they are a great company to work with
